Formrib and Rebar Couplers - Click here for products

Halfen HBM couplers

Code
Halfen HBM couplers

The HBM system consists of high-strength couplers factory-swaged onto grade 500 high-yield reinforcement bars. Anchorage reinforcement (female socket bars) can be supplied in shapes and lengths to suit almost any application configuration. The male connection bar has a hot-forged ‘upset’ end onto which is rolled a standard metric thread.

HBM is hallmarked by off-the-shelf availability and CARES Technical Approval.

Halfen HDB Punching Shear Reinforcement - Click here for products

Halfen HIT Insulated Balcony Connection System

Code
Halfen HIT Insulated Balcony Connection System

To facilitate selection and use, a specially-written software programme that calculates shear stress and reinforcement requirements is available.
The HIT System is the latest development in thermal break and reinforcement continuity for cantilevered balcony construction. HIT helps to eliminate the effects of cold bridging (i.e. condensation and mould growth) experienced with reinforcement that is traditionally continuous from internal slab straight through to external balcony.
The HIT System comprises special stainless steel swaged couplings in the tension zone (into which is factory-fitted normal high-yield reinforcement) and stainless steel double-headed studs in the compression zone. These stainless steel components are housed in a high-density polystyrene fabrication which provides the thermal separation between floor slab and balcony.
The HIT System is supplied in versions for in-situ and precast applications and modules of 1.0m and 0.2 metres that can be used in combination to avoid cutting.

Halfen HDB Punching Shear Reinforcement

Code
Halfen HDB Punching Shear Reinforcement

Halfen HDB punching shear reinforcement is designed to prevent punching failure at column heads in concrete flat slab construction – without the traditional need for downstand beams, mushroom-headed columns and thickened floors.

The system is manufactured from ribbed bars which are hot-forged to make double-ended studs (connected by spacer rails) to provide virtually slip-free shear head reinforcement with excellent anchorage. The two or three-stud elements are simply dropped into place in the reinforcing cage and retained in position by means of clip bars and/or tying wire. This typically reduces site installation time from hours to minutes per column head compared
to traditional bent reinforcement.
